Introduction
Over the past few years South African Islam has exploded into a variety of identities
that reflect similarities, and demonstrate distinct differences. Scholars, researchers,
and journalists have generally referred to either Western Cape Islam or Kwa-Zulu
Natal Islam as representations of Islam in South Africa, overlooking the fact that
Islam is expressed somewhat differently by other Muslim communities such as the
Eastern Cape. Not much has been written about the Muslims residing in this part of
the country except for the contributions of Rochlin 1956, Anon 1979, Abrahams
1988, and Davids 1997. Some of these texts offer a background sketch of early
Eastern Cape Muslim history whilst Abraham’s compilation of snapshots and a
sprinkling of notes gives one a glimpse into aspects of Muslim social life.
The intention of this short article is to give particular attention to Maulana Ahmad
Sadeq Desai and his monthly paper, The Majlis: Voice of Islam. Maulana Desai was
and remains one of the prominent players within Port Elizabeth’s Muslim community
for more than three decades. He commented and responded to a variety of issues over
many years, and it will be impossible to present all of these in this article. Attention
will therefore be given to two issues only. The first covers his ideas regarding politics
with particular reference to recent developments, while the second deals with his
responses to the introduction and implementation of Muslim Personal Law.

Understanding Hadhrat Moulana Ahmad Sadiq Desai (The Majlis)

You know, sometimes in a big family you have a grandfather who tries his utmost to keep his family and the values of the family intact. Be it traditions or business practices, he is that patriarch who will even show a hardline attitude in making sure that everyone conforms.

Some would rebel, waiting for an opportunity when he loses control. Others, who fully understand the value of his efforts, support him.

As he gets older, nearing his end time, he shares this responsibility with other like minded members of his family. To ensure that in this responsibility there is no shirking, he still plays his role 100%, not slowing down, even though there are others who are prepared to give him a rest.

The value of such a grandfather will only be realised, even by the rebels, after his demise

Take this same scenario and apply it upon our Hadhrat Moulana Ahmad Sadiq Desai Saheb of the Majlis.

As much as he abhors blindly following any personality, even if it be himself, we will indulge so that the true cry of his heart is understood. It is the same cry that is in the hearts of Our Akabireen.

He is passionate about the Deen of Allah Ta’ala. He has given himself over to work for the Deen of Allah Ta’ala.
There are no worldly departments in his life. All his efforts, private and public is for Deen. There is no personal motive or concessions.

Any deviation in Deen, be it slight or huge, he meets it head on, no matter who may be involved.

This octogenarian, a grandfather, is not prepared to let any harm come to the Deen of Allah, even if family members are offended.

To some, he may seem like a ‘touched’ keyboard warrior, hitting the keys of his keyboard with every word that can be found in dictionaries and the thesaurus. Sometimes, those words are not even found by Google!
He attacks every deviation with the harshest of words that even those who love him, wince and grimace.

Rather than going on the defence, and attacking his manner, take some time out and reflect….WHY?

Fame? In the eyes of the world, this is not fame but notoriety….
As far as a “market share” of followers go, there are many silent followers and admirers who will distance themselves from him lest they be judged as “followers of Majlis”
What kind of fame is this?

Money? From where? Who is going to pay him to be verbally destroyed, because he has spared no one, going against every form of baatil is his jihad.
There are no expensive vacations, mansions and apartments, jetsetting appointments, latest vehicles, 5 star hotels, celebrity appointments, flashing of cameras and rolling of videos in this grandfather’s life. Not now, or before. Far from it, in fact there are many times when he was seen with a patched mismatched kurta set, old hat, well oiled!
Genuinely, his reliance is on Allah Ta’ala.
His goal is Allah Ta’ala’ and His Mission is upholding the Deen of Allah.

Love him, hate him, admire him or stay far away from him, it means absolutely nothing to him.

He is that Grandfather of ours who will do whatever it takes, even if may seem like a losing battle, to make sure that under his watch, the Deen of Allah Ta’ala must never be diminished in any way.

If you can understand just a bit of him, you will then see him differently, even if you despise him.

Allah Ta’ala has blessed him with strength, physically, mentally and emotionally to fulfill his mission. And he will continue doing so, inshaAllah, without fear or favour!

In this current issue of Opening of The Masajid, he could have easily minded his own business and Ibadaat and quietly slipped into his Masjid to fulfill his obligations. But this is not about his Ibadaat but the Deen of Allah Ta’ala!

As our Sheikh damat barakaatuhu once mentioned about servants of Deen, ” There are many who work in Deen, but sadly, very few who work FOR Deen! People protect the feelings of others and compromise Deen. Who is there to Protect the Deen?”

This is that one individual who had made his life WAQF for the Deen of Allah Ta’ala.
Whether you like him or not, make dua for him. And make Shukr that Allah Ta’ala has allowed you to witness in this time and age a person who has shown you what it means to give yourself to Allah Ta’ala.

This article should not be misconstrued to mean that, Hadhrat Moulana Desai is a above reproach and fault. Alhamdulillah, in that too, he has had the courage in retracting statements when he was in error.

Neither should this article be misconstrued to mean that Hadhrat Moulana is the only true senior aalim and sheikh in the world. There are definitely other seniors who are of the same calibre or even greater. Yet, many of them keep themselves as muqtadis to this imam, even though they are imams themselves!

The purpose of this article is simply for us to get an understanding of the mindset and mizaaj of our Ulama, in this case Moulana Desai, so that, even if you dont like it, but as a Muslim who wants to practice Deen, you will know who your well wishers are.

Like that grandfather who is a hardliner, protecting his family and the affairs of his family, even when they dont like it.

May Allah Ta’ala keep Hadhrat Moulana and all our Mashaaikh protecting His Deen, under His Pleasure, till they reach Him and He is Pleased with them.
May Allah Ta’ala protect them all and attach us to Him through these Friends of His.

THIS QUESTION HAS TO BE ANSWERED BY THE AFFILIATES OF BOGUS ‘UUCSA’ WHO IS OPPOSING IN THE HIGH COURT THE APPLICATION FOR OPENING THE MUSAAJID. Allah ta’ala says in his qur’aan:

“Who is a greater oppressor than the one who prevents the Thikr of Allah in the Musaajid, and he strives (plots) in its destruction?” (Baqarah, Aayat 114)

“Establish Salaat, pay Zakaat and make Ruku’ with those who make Ruku’ (i.e. perform Salaat in Jamaa’t)” (Baqarah, Aayat 43)
Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said:
“I take oath by the One in Whose control is my life! Most certainly, I had resolved to command the gathering of firewood. After it has been gathered, the Athaan shall be given. Then I shall command a person to lead the Salaat. He will then lead the Salaat while I shall proceed to those people who are not present for Salaat (in the Musjid). Then I shall burn down their houses.” (Bukhaari and Muslim)

Commenting on this Hadith, Mullah Ali Qaari says: “The imperative importance of Jamaat Salaat in the Musaajid can be adequately gauged. Just ponder with what emphasis the warning of Divine Punishment has been sounded for those people who absent themselves from the Musaajid for Jamaat Salaat without valid reason. Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) himself had decided such severe punishment for those who abstain from the Musjid for the Fardh Salaat.”

Another Hadith in Muslim states:

“A blind man came to Nabi (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and said: ‘O Rasulullah! Verily, I do not have a guide to lead me to the Musjid.” He then sought permission for abstention. Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) granted the concession. As he departed, Nabi (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) recalled him and asked: ‘Do you hear the Athaan for Salaat?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ Then Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: ‘Then respond!”.

The blind man was ordered to attend Jamaat Salaat despite not having a guide to lead him to the Musjid.

In the history of Islam this is the first satanic plot in which the Munaafiqeen have flagrantly and openly taken a stand against Muslims who are striving to get the Musaajid opened to enable the Daily Fardh Salaat and Jumuah to be performed in Jamaa’at. The arguments of the Munaafiqeen are absolutely scandalous and kufr. In their court papers they are at pains to prove from every angle that it is not necessary for Fardh and Jumuah Salaat to be performed in the Musaajid, and that in the interest of their satanically convoluted concept of ‘sanctity of life’ it is imperative to keep the Musaajid closed. They believe that the Houses of Allah Ta’ala are the haunts where the virus disease breeds. Insha-Allah, we shall publish all the copro-kufr which the Munaafiq Bham, Munaafiq Yusuf Patel, and the Munaafiq Taha Karan have disgorged in their court papers in support of the ban on Musaajid and Salaat.

Two affiliate members of Bogus UUCSA, namely, Jamiatul Ulama KZN and the Council of Ulama Eastern Cape have publicly dissociated from Bogus UUCSA. They are on the side of the Haqq – on the side of Allah Ta’ala and His Rasool in our clamour for the Musaajid to be opened.
The other affiliates of this Bogus UUCSA must of a necessity stand up and say on WHICH SIDE THEY ARE. The Ummah wants to know their allegiance on the issue of the Musaajid and Salaat in the Musaajid. This is a matter of Imaan and Kufr. If they select to ignore this question, it shall be accepted and understood that they are on the side of true Munaafiqeen. Their names shall be laid bare for the Ummah to see and know who the enemies of Islam and the community are.
The plethora of kufr rubbish disgorged by the Munaafiq Karaan in his court affidavit in the attempt to retain the ban on the Musaajid and Salaat, is defies Imaani credulity.
The good side of the lockdown is that the Munaafiqeen have been compelled by circumstances to surface and expose themselves. Allah Ta’ala operates in ways unfathomable to our minds with their finite abilities. He states in His Glorious Qur’aan:

“And, those who are kuffaar will be driven to Jahannam so that Allah differentiates between the khabeeth (the filth) and the Tayyib (pure and wholesome). And He will pile The filth (munaafiqeen and kuffaar) some on top of others, thus compounding them all (into a homologous mess), then He shall cast them into Jahannam. Verily, they are the Khaasiroon (eternal losers to dwell in Hell-Fire forever).” (Al-Anfaal, Aayat 37)

Remember that Salaat is not valid behind Bham, Karaan, Menk, Yusuf Patel and similar other Munaafiq characters who have stabbed Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) in the back by clandestinely slithering like snakes in the grass, worming their way into government circles to weave their plots against the Deen of Allah Ta’ala. Warning us of such Munaafiqeen, the Qur’aan Majeed says:

“What! Do they search for the law of jaahiliyyah? And, whose law is more beautiful that the Law of Allah for people who have Yaqeen?

“O People of Imaan! Do not take as friends the Yahood and Nasaara, for they are mutual friends. Whoever among you (O Mu’mineen!) befriends them, verily, he is of them. Verily, Allah does not guide people who are zaalimeen. You will see those in whose hearts is a disease (the filth of nifaaq) running among them (i.e. bootlicking them), saying: ‘We (bootlick) because we fear the calamities of the time befalling us.” (Al-Maaidah, 50, 51, 52)
The “calamities of the time” in the context of the prevailing scenario is the ‘swart gevaar’ ‘islamophobia’ satanic tactic to stampede ignorant and fearful Muslims into kowtowing, bootlicking and reneging from Islam. They lack Imaan, hence they fear shadows. This fear induces in them the disease of bootlicking. They bootlick and betray the Ummah because they believe that the shadows and phantoms will save them from their hallucinated dangers and calamities. But Allah Azza Wa Jal says in His gracious Qur’aan:

“There is no help except from Allah, The Mighty, The Wise.”

In pursuit of their despicable goals and objectives – money, perks, honour and false imaginary ‘power’ – these contemptible Munaafiqeen betray Allah Ta’ala, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and the Ummah. Just imagine the monstrosity of the satanic villainy of striving to prevent Muslims from the Fardh Salaat in the Musjid and for keeping the Musaajid closed! In the annals of Islamic history such disgraceful kufr which relegates all forms of other kufr into oblivion, was never seen or heard of emanating from professed Muslims.

Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said that the Musaajid are the noblest and the best places on earth while the malls are the worst venues on earth. The malls are the dens and haunts of the shayaateen according to our Nabi (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam), while the Malaaikah dwell in the Musaajid. But for these Munaafiqeen the virus disease is not in the malls, and not in the overcrowded taxis, but it is in the Houses of Allah Azza Wa Jal. May Allah Azza Wa Jal destroy them. They should understand and remember well that: “Verily, the apprehension of your Rabb is most severe.”

when he ratified his Khulafa List and the name of Maulana AS DESAI was preserved till

Majaalis had come to a standstill? Then Maulana AS DESAI came and never were the

there was never such a diligent student like Maulana AS DESAI in Jalalabad and never

studies in Jalalabad and then wished to proceed to Darul Uloom Deoband as there was

to Maulana AS DESAI. Which student had that honour!!!

Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said : “An age will dawn when the worst of the people under the canopy of the sky will be their ulama. From them will percolate fitnah, and the fitnah will rebound on them.”
A Shaikh commented that under the canopy of the sky are also the Ya-hood, Nasaara, the Mush-rikeen, apes and pigs. Yet, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) branded the ulama-e-soo‟ as being worse than all creatures under the sky. They are the destroyers of Islam, hence they have been branded the worst scum. Reflect on the following report, and you will un-derstand the villainy of these evil molvis and why they qualify for the appel-lation of “the worst scum under the canopy of the sky”.

“The commencement of the Karachi inter-madaaris cricket tourna-ment will be this morning at 9 o clock in Asghar Ali Shah Cricket Stadium. Dr. Mohammed Ali Shah will be going on behalf of Asghar Ali Shah Cricket Stadium for arranging the tournament. Cricket teams from the following Deeni Madaaris will be participating in the tour-nament:

The senior coaches of Asghar Ali Shah Cricket Stadium said that the ob-jective for planning this tournament is to search for cricket talent in the madaaris. By means of the tournament special boys will be selected and will be trained in terms of the rules of I.S.S. to be-come professionals to en-able these boys to partici-pate in league and first class cricket.”

Whilst the perfidious conduct of the molvis of these Darul Ulooms who have converted their insti-tutions into Darul Jahals (Abodes of Ignorance), is extremely lamentable, it is not surprising since Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) had pre-dicted this rotten, degen-erate state of the ulama-e-soo‟ who are today in control of even the Deeni Madaaris which still bear the names of their illustri-ous founders.
Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) had also predicted that Muslims will emulate and follow the Yahood and Nasaara right into the „lizard‟s hole‟. This is precisely what these molvis of the Madaaris are today perpe-trating. Just imagine, Madaaris which were es-tablished to guard the Deen and the Sunnah, are today crawling into the gutters of filth, fisq and fujoor behind the Yahood and Nasaara to gain recognition and haraam boodle.
The institutions – the darul jahals – which have so perfidiously lapped up the vomit disgorged by the fussaaq and kuffaar sports-people, have be-trayed Allah Ta‟ala, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and the Ummah. It is no longer permissible to seek Deeni guidance from the so-called darul iftas of these unfortunate madrasahs which are shamelessly betraying Islam and adopting the ways of the kuffaar.
What is the affinity be-tween the Knowledge of the Qur‟aan – the Knowledge which ema-nated from Ghaar-e-Hira, and the haraam obnoxious cricket tournament of the kuffaar? These rotten molvis of these deviated madrasahs lie sprawled in the gutters, bootlicking with glee the filth of the western kuffaar. Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Every sport of the Mu‟min is haraam.” Yet these Hufaalah (Rubbish) molvis who operate these madaaris encourage their Talaba to participate in flagrantly haraam activi-ties of fisq and fujoor.
What is the relation-ship between Qur‟aan Tahfeez, Qur‟aan Tafseer, Hadith and Fiqh on the one side, and the fisq and fujoor of kuffaar sport on the other side? How did these molvi agents of Iblees manage to bridge the unbridgeable chasm between the Qur‟aan and the sport of the kuffaar? Truly, shaitaan has not only urinated in their ears, he has excreted in their mouths, hence their hearts, brains and entire beings are permeated with shaitaaniyat.
They have made a huge mockery of them-selves, insulted the illus-trious names of the Ula-ma and Sahaabah after whom the Madaaris are named, and have commit-ted about the worst act of villainy by not only al-lowing, but by encourag-ing their Talaba to partici-pate in sport of fisq and fujoor thereby according respectability and accept-ability to bootlicking the fussaaq, fujjaar and kuffaar.
Both these miserable Talaba and miserable Asaatizah should reflect and understand that they are within the purview of the Hadith depicting them as swines. Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “He who imparts (higher) Knowledge to those who are unfit for it, are like one who garlands swines (khanaazeer) with dia-monds, pearls and gold.” The indulgence of the Talaba in haraam kuffaar sport of an aggravated kind, renders them kha-naazeer, and their teach-ers are garlanders of kha-naazeer – garlanding pigs with the treasure of Ilm-e-Wahi. In this scenario even the ustaadhs are like khanaazeer since they are the vile agents of Iblees who permit, condone and promote kuffaar sport in the names of the Madaaris and by Talaba who are supposed to ac-quire the Knowledge which qualifies its Bearer to be the Representative of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam).
The Huffaaz and the Ulama according to the Hadith are supposed to be the Standard Bearers of the Deen. But these stu-dents and their teachers are destroyers of the Deen. They follow, inch by inch, in the footsteps of Iblees who has har-nessed them into his plot of destroying Islam. While these most unfortu-nate bootlicking traitors – the teachers and the stu-dents – will destroy their Imaan, they will fail to achieve the objective of the devil‟s plot. Allah Ta‟ala is the Guardian and Defender of Islam.
“Verily, We have re-vealed the Thikr (the Qur‟aan/the Deen), and verily We are its Protec-tors.” (Qur‟aan)

Both Qiyaamah and Allah’s Athaab (Punishment) cannot be in the too distant future. The degree and the amount of evil and immorality – fisq and fujoor- organized and graced by donkey ‘sheikhs’ and moron molvis of lust are the surest signs of the writing on the wall – the Signs of Allah’s Athaab on the community. This ‘ladies thikr’ programme is not only fisq and fujoor, it is plain kufr.

In the Name of Allah Ta’ala, every rule ordained by Allah Ta’ala for the Hijaab of females is satanically and brazenly flouted. This is the first time in Islam’s more than 14 century history that a ‘ladies thikr’ programme is being organized. It is devised by only those who are under the spell of Iblees. The miserable so-called ‘haafidh Ismail from Johannesburg who will ‘grace’ this women’s gathering of the Devil, is undoubtedly one of those shayaateenul ins mentioned in the Qur’aan Majeed. He is most certainly, in the words of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam), a shaitaan in human form.

While Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) mentioned that women are Habaailush Shaitaan (the Traps of Shaitaan), in this age, juhala ‘molvis’ who have become the agents of Iblees are greater Habaailush Shaitaan than even the women. Women by virtue of their natural wiles and nuqs fil aql (intellectual deficiency) entrap men into zina. But these male agents of Iblees entrap women to ensnare men and to gratify their bestial lusts and other despicable worldly and nafsaani objectives. The Mashaaikh say that when Allah Ta’ala wants to disgrace a man, He allows the character to become entrapped by women and lads.

The villainy of their abominability is magnified manifold by their usage of Allah’s Name to execute their nafsaani conspiracies. They dangle the chimera of the Deen to entice and lure the stupid women into their mal-oon (accursed) snares. Now these mentally deficient females emerge without the slightest compunction from their homes in flagrant violation of Allah’s Prohibition stated explicitly in the Qur’aan Majeed and in the Ahaadith. They assuage their conscience by hallucinating that their haraam emergence from the home and their haraam participation in a so-called ‘thikr’ programme organized by a human Iblees are acts of ibaadat.

The haraam act of women’s thikr programme in the public domain (and even if it had to be in privacy) comes within the purview of the prediction made by Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) regarding the Signs of Qiyaamah. It is mentioned in the Hadith that among these Signs is that “the dunya will be pursued with the amal of the Deen.” These agents of Iblees are misusing Thikrullah for the acquisition of despicable nafsaani objectives. From whence did they suck out women’s thikr programmes? Clearly, Iblees sucked it out from his thumb, then disgorged it into their brains.

When even public congregational thikr programmes are bid’ah and haraam for males, when it is not permissible for women to emerge from home to go to the Musjid for Salaat whilst she is in a tafilah state, when it is haraam for women to be adorned in finery or to be dressified when emerging from home, when it is not permissible for women to recite audibly even the Talbiyah, the Tashreek Takbeers, the Qiraa’t during Salaat, etc., then by what Imaani stretch of logic will public women’s thikr programmes ever be permissible? According to the Shariah, when there is a real valid reason or need for a woman to emerge from her home, then it is Waajib to be in the condition described as tafilah which means that the woman must be in a state of untidiness, draped in shabby cloak without the slightest trace of fragrance and the like.

This women’s thikr programme which will be graced by an agent of Iblees is a greater threat to the morality of the women than their prowling in malls. While the former haraam function is considered ibaadat and meritorious, the latter is understood to be a purely mundane act. Thus, there is the possibility of women resorting to Taubah for prowling in the malls. But never will they repent for having participated in the haraam act of the thikr programme.

Allah Ta’ala did not create women for any public activity. Thus, Jamaat Salaat, Janaazah Salaat, Jumuah Salaat and Eid Salaat have not been imposed on them. They are not permitted to recite the qiraa’t in Salaat audibly even if in the privacy of their homes. Thus, only the devil has inspired the women and the organizing shayaateen to initiate the fraudulent ‘thikr’ programme which has absolutely no origin and no sanction in Islam.

Hadhrat Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood (Radhiyallahu anhu) had expelled from the Musjid even a group of men who had initiated a thikr programme, branding them ‘bid’atis’. Indeed this haraam ‘ladies thikr’ programme is a satanically disingenuous plot to destroy the Islamic morality of both men and women, and also to undermine the purity of Islam in the same way as other religions have been sullied, contaminated and polluted with immorality initiated by their priests and pundits.

The women should well understand that according to the Shariah, women who emerge from the home to participate in public activity of whatever kind, be it in the deceptive form of the Deen, then the La’nat (Curse) of Allah Ta’ala settles on them and on their menfolk who had permitted them to emerge. They all remain under Allah’s CURSE until they return to their homes. As for the vile moron molvis and the donkey sheikhs who set the trap to ensnare the women, they may perhaps not even be Muslims.

When Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) has mentioned that the best Salaat of a woman is the Salaat which she performs in the darkest corner of her home, then on what basis will this haraam shaitaani so-called ‘thikr programme ever be halaal?

The best Purdah for a woman is her home and her grave. She becomes a tool of shaitaan when she emerges from her home. Shaitaan lies in ambush to ensnare her into his plot to destroy the morality of both the women and the men. No matter how much these shaitaani morons may sniff around for Shar’i evidence to support their haraam programmes with nafsaani narratives, never will they be able to present a single valid Shar’i daleel for their shaitaaniyat. This proposed haraam ‘ladies thikr’ programme is a satanically insidious attempt to create moral anarchy and spiritual ruin. This haraam programme is a programme of nafsaani twaddle which twiddles with the Deen.

For an act to be classified as Ibaadat, it is imperative for it to have its origin in the Khairul Quroon era which is the noblest era of the Sahaabah, Taabieen and Tabe-Taabieen. But this women’s shaitaani programme frauded and fabricated by the agents of Iblees has absolutely no basis in Islam.

ANXIETY-DEPRESSION

Q. Why do so many young people nowadays suffer from anxiety and depression? What is a remedy for this?

A. The anxiety and depression are the effects of the immoral lifestyle of the young people of today. The deluges of filth and immorality of the internet, facebook, pornography, movies, etc., etc. which their brains and hearts ingest spawn the light or little punishment of anxiety and depression. The lack of Deen and the grostesque darkness of the heart stemming from the filthy lifestyle of the young and even the old stupid aunts and uncles, and even grannies and grandads who have become porn addicts, jars mental equilibrium, causing a very mild condition of insanity which the morons term anxiety and depression, and which sometimes culminates in suicide. This ultimate consequence is on the rise among the kuffaar. The anxiety and depression come within the scope of the Qur’aanic Aayat:

“We shall surely give them to taste of the little punishment, other than the greater punishment, for perhaps they may return (to Siraatul Mustaqeem and repent).”

Remember that Deen is not restricted to performing Namaaz. A person whose Imaan is damaged by the satanism of internet filth will be afflicted by depression and anxiety. Nowadays this condition affects numerous young people on account of their evil computer/internet addiction. They soil their eyes, contaminate their hearts and ruin their Imaan with the filth they view on these media. The little punishment of anxiety and depression is therefore to be expected.

As for the remedy: Abandon the internet filth, increase Tilaawat of the Qur’aan Majeed, increase Thikrullaah, perform the Masnoon Sunnah Salaats. Minus roohaani cultivation, there is no cure for anxiety/depression. The harmful drug medication provided by the western psychologists only increase this spiritual disease. It simply aggravates the problem, makes one a drug addict and adds the disease of paranoia. Allah Ta’ala says in the Qur’aan Majeed:

“Behold! In the Thikr of Allah do hearts find rest.”

DEFINITION OF IMAAN
In terms of the Shari’ah the two words, Imaan and Islam , are inextricably interwoven. The Shar’i meaning of the one is incomplete without the meaning of the other. The two terms are complementary. The one is a necessary corollary of the other. The existence of the one is dependent on the existence of the other. Negation of the one implies the automatic negation of the other. A proper understanding of Imaan is, therefore, possible only by a study of the Shar’i definition of both words and their interrelationship to one another.
Literal Meanings

Imaan literally means:

To verify, to accept, to attest with the heart.

The acceptance by the heart with conviction is termed Imaan in the literal sense. Hence, Imaan is a state or an internal (Baatin) condition.

Islaam literally means:

“To submit oneself to another; to make oneself lowly in the presence of another .”

In the literal sense. Therefore,Islam is an external (zaahiri) state in which a display or demonstration of the internal (baatini) condition is made.

These literal meanings of the two words have their share in the Shar’i definition of Imaan and Islaam. Basing the technical (i.e. the Shar’i ) meanings on the literal meanings. Imaam Abu Muhammad Mas’ud Baghawi Rahmatullah Alay says:

“Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi wasallam) defined Islaam as the name for external acts and Imaan as the name of the internal beliefs.”

THE EPISODE OF NAJRAAN

The mudhil imaam has abortively attempted to extravasate capital for his kufr baatil from the episode of Najraan. He has miserably failed to note the vast difference between the Najraani delegation and the cross-preaching priest who propagated his kufr at the invitation of the mudhil imaam.

This miscreant imaam refers ignorant Muslims who have no access to the kutub to refer to the book of Maulana Idrees Kandhlavi for an account of the discussion between Nabi (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and the Christian delegation. Even in the account proffered by Maulana Kandhalvi there is no corroboration and no support for the haraam episode arranged by the mudhil imaam. The brief account we had given is from the tafseer of the Akaabir authorities. There is no incumbency to refer to the kitaab of Maulana Kandhlavi.

The mudhil says: “Majlis dismissed the whole episode of the delegation of Najraan and gives the impression that Nabi sallallaho alaihi wasallam simply invited the Christians to Islam and offered them to pay Jizyah which they accepted.”

The Majlis did not ‘dismiss’ the episode to create an erroneous impression. On the contrary we presented an elucidation to apprize Muslims of the reality of this episode – a reality which the mudhil is either ignorant of or has deemed it appropriate for concealment.

We again present the salient facts and features of the Najraani delegation:

(a) Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) had written to the Christian leadership of Najraan to accept Islam. If they refused, they had to pay Jizyah. If they refused this option, the only alternative then was WAR-JIHAD. The Najraanis did not ‘offer’ to pay Jizyah of their own free sweet will. They paid Jizyah because they were unable to confront the Muslims in war.

(b) The Najraani delegation came of its own accord, not by the invitation of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) for dialogue on religion. The kaafir priest who had appeared in the Streatham Mosque in London to propagate Christianity and malign Islam, came at the express invitation of the mudhil imaam. Their presence in Madinah was not to propagate Christianity, not to distribute Christian literature, not to deliver a sermon of kufr to the Sahaabah, not to malign the Qur’aan, and not to insult Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam). They came out of fear. It was the threat and ultimatum of war issued by Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) which had constrained the arrival of the delegation.

While they came with their tail between their legs, the Christian priest, at the invitation of the Agent of Iblees, came fluttering his standard of kufr in the faces of Muslims in a citadel of Islam forcefully delivering his sermon of kufr to Muslims sitting stupidly and agape.

(c) When the Christians intransigently adhered to their kufr and shirk doctrines which they did NOT propagate to Muslims in Madinah Munawaarah, Allah Ta’ala ordered Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) to issue the challenge (the Mubaahalah) to the Najraanis. Both parties would have to invoke Allah’s La’nat on the liars. The consequence of the Mubaahalah, if it had proceeded, would have been the transformation of the Christians into apes and pigs and the destruction of the entire region of Najraan. This was clearly stated by Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) to the Christians. There were no niceties, no bootlicking and no inter-faith dialogue.

(d) It was clearly mentioned to them that their belief of trinity, cross-worship and consumption of pork prevented them from entering into the fold of Islam.

(e) The discussion between the Najraanis and Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) did not centre on inter-faith dialogue. They were not accorded the slightest opportunity to deliver any sermon of kufr and to propagate Christianity. On the contrary, they were informed with the greatest clarity and with a belligerent attitude that they were plodding falsehood. The discussion was between the delegation and Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam). It was not a kaafir priest of the Najraanis lecturing to a Muslim audience who sat like stupid dumb animals listening to the kufr being dinned into their ears and polluting their minds and hearts. Muslims who sat through silently listening to the disgorgement of the kufr sermon inside the Musjid are more dumb than cattle as Allah Ta’ala says in the Qur’aan Majeed: “They are like cattle or even more astray.”

(f) From the very inception, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) had cold-shouldered the delegation which had arrived uninvited. He refused to even respond to their greeting. Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) had adopted this ‘unfriendly’ attitude because the Christians were clad in garments which are described as ‘adornment of Iblees”. Only after they had changed to their travel-dress on the advice of Hadhrat Ali (Radhiyallahu anhu), did Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) engage them in discussion.

(g) The interaction with Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) was a straightforward demand to the Christians to accept Islam or pay Jizyah or be prepared for War. The Agent of Iblees speaks bunkum by denying this fact. He only portrays his jahaalat. If he has any expertise in merely kitaab-reading, he should check the tafseer of the Mubaahalah Qur’aanic Aayat as well as the Ahaadith pertaining to the Najraani delegation. There is not a stitch of support in the Najraani episode for the ghutha and hufaalah (rubbish and trash) disgorged by this mudhil imaam who has committed the vilest act of misguidance by inviting the kaafir priest to deliver a sermon of kufr in the Musjid and to even distribute biblical literature to the Muslims.

An important question for the mudhil Agent of Iblees is: Will you invite a Shiah priest to the Musjid to deliver a kufr sermon on Shi’ism, and malign Hadhrat Aishah, Hadhrat Abu Bakr, Hadhrat Umar and the rest of the Sahaabah (Radhiyallahu anhum)? Will you invite a Shiah priest to propagate Shi’ism in the Musjid and distribute Shiah literature which blasphemes the Sahaabah? He should consult his conscience if there still are any remnants of Imaani conscience in him after this dastardly act of having invited a Christian priest to deliver a sermon of kufr maligning Islam inside the Musjid.

It is abundantly clear from the tafseer of the Qur’aanic Aayat pertaining to the Najraani delegation, and also from the Ahaadith that there is absolutely no basis for drawing an analogy between the kufr act of inviting the kaafir priest to propagate Christianity in the Musjid and the Najraani episode in which the Najraani delegation came after Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) had delivered to them his ultimatum of Islam or War.
