BROILER CHICKENS AND CORRUPT FATWAS

DISEASED BROILER CHICKENS AND CORRUPT FATWAS

QUESTION

Please check the two Urdu fatwas we are sending you. According to these fatwas it is halaal to consume ‘farmi’ (broiler) chickens regardless of the haraam feed they are fed. What is the status of these fatwas? Are they valid according to the Shariah?

ANSWER

The issue pertaining to the consumption of artificial/broiler/incubated chickens is not whether the chickens if slaughtered correctly are halaal or haraam. The issue is whether these diseased chickens, fed haraam feed are tayyib, healthy and good to consume or not. Are they good or bad for the health of people? This is the question.

The Fataawa of permissibility issued by the Darul Ulooms, confirm that the Muftis are out of touch with reality. The obligation of a Mufti is not to acquit himself like a Madrasah Ustaadh explaining academic technicalities to the Talaba. Whatever the Muftis have stated in their fatwas is not supposed to be for the consumption of the masses. The Muftis are supposed to bear in mind the physical and spiritual welfare of the masses.

Regarding broiler (‘farmi’) chickens, the Muftis have failed to understand that a factor (sabab) for hurmat is Dharar (harm). We are not saying that the chicken which is fed with haraam feed is haraam even if slaughtered correctly. The issue is the dharar factor which thousands of kuffaar experts have confirmed.

These broiler chickens cause numerous diseases including cancer, heart problems, liver problems, etc., etc. We have published considerable literature on this subject. The Muftis of the Darul Ulooms in India and Pakistan are living in dreamland. They are ignorant of the reality, hence they issue bunkum (ghutha) fatwas which only cause more harm to the masses both physically and spiritually.

These Muftis of today fail to understand that along with physical damage to the human body comes spiritual harm as well. Both the body and the soul suffer from physical disease as well as from spiritual disease. The job of the Mufti is to strengthen the bond between man and his Khaaliq. The job of the Mufti is not to weaken the resolve and Imaan of the masses with Fiqhi technicalities.

Everyone is aware that the male’s satr is from the navel to the knees. It will be indeed moronic for a Mufti to advise the masses that since Salaat is valid with only the satr covered, they may go to the Musjid with their entire bodies exposed, covering only the Satr. Thus, the Imaam Sahib and the muqtadis may on a hot day perform Salaat in this semi-naked form because the satr is covered. This in fact is the attitude of the Muftis of this era. They lack insight, and they have nafsaani agendas.

That is why these same muftis have made permissible the haraam covid protocols of the atheists, and have even closed the Musaajid. To satisfy the atheists, these Muftis have argued away by means of ta’weel baatil the La Adwa Hadith.

The Fiqhi technicalities posited by these Muftis are not denied. The contention is that these chickens are diseased and cause many diseases in human beings. The disease dharar has been proved by the evidences of innumerable authorities on this subject.

In the first fatwa is mentioned: “And, if someone on his own refrains from eating farmi chickens then he may do so as he wish. However, the fatwa is on its hillat and permissibility.”

The Mufti Sahib has disgorged drivel. These chickens are extremely harmful, hence the fatwa is on hurmat. The Mufti appears to be ignorant of the dharar factor, hence his fatwa is erroneous.

In the second fatwa is mentioned:

“Nothing can be declared haraam on the basis of mere speculation of people nor does Eemaan exit by eating chicken.”

No one has ever claimed that the devourer of these diseased chickens becomes a kaafir. The Mufti has spoken trash in this comment. This Mufti Sahib has spoken without the application of his mind and on the basis of jahaalat. His ignorance has constrained him to infer that those who prohibit eating these chickens have structured their case on the basis of ‘speculation’ (baseless opinion). It will be salubrious for the Mufti Sahib to understand that this claim which he has tendered is in fact based on baseless speculation. He simply disgorged bunkum with his baseless speculation. He has acquitted himself stupidly without daleel.

The fatwa of prohibition is not based on ‘speculation’ as the Mufti stupidly claims. It is based on irrefutable facts – on evidence which cannot be logically and practically refuted. If these Muftis have any respect and concern for the Haqq, they should make an in-depth panoptic research (wasee’ mutaala-ah) of the broiler chicken haraam, shaitaani industry. Then if they are sincere, they shall not fail to understand that the DHARAR Sabebe Hurmat (factor of prohibition) stands out as clear as daylight.

In his penultimate statement of Fatwa No.2, the Mufti states:

“Regarding the question of it being harmful to the health then only the doctors can give a better answer to it.”

This statement proves the gross and staggering ignorance of the Mufti on this subject. It is haraam for a Mufti to issue a fatwa on the basis of his jahaalat. In churning out fatwas on the basis of ignorance, the Mufti poses a threat to both the Imaan and health of the masses. Such a mufti is labelled Mufti Maajin. He has no Shar’i license to issue fatwas regardless of him being a mufti whether in Darul Ifta of Deoband or of Mazaaharal Uloom.

There exists a deluge of expert literature published by doctors and experts who had made in-depth research and who have practical experience of this satanic broiler chicken industry. The avalanche of literature is sufficient to drown the Muftis who baselessly issue fatwas of jawaaz for harmful poisoned chickens which cause much disease.

Is the Mufti sincere or does he have a commercial and nafsaani agenda to submit to? Is he genuinely unaware of the mass of evidence proving the dharar of these poisoned, diseased chickens which ruin the health of the masses?

The fatwas of hillat issued by these Mufti Maajins is dismissed with the contempt it deserves.

EATING BROILER CHICKENS IS HARAAM BASED ON THE 100% PROVEN HARM AND DISEASE-CAUSING OF THESE ARTIFICIAL CHICKENS WHICH ARE SUBMITTED TO BRUTALITY FROM DAY ONE OF THEIR APPEARANCE TO THE LAST DAY OF THE BRIEF SPAN OF THEIR MISERABLE LIFE.

INDIA: BRUTAL ATROCITIES OF THE COW-WORSHIPPING HINDUS

Lynching Muslims, publicly threatening to rape Muslim women, banning Hijaab dress, inflammatory hate speech, public beatings and grievous assaults and police connivance are among the politically motivated crimes of the Modi regime. The BJP government used a movie to incite anti-Muslim violence.

The Muslim community in India is gripped with fear. There is no aid and protection by the authorities. The police and courts aid and abet in the atrocities being perpetrated on Muslims in the land of cow worship where cow urine and manure are holy artefacts.

The declared policy of the cow-worshippers and urine-drinkers is that Muslims should convert to Hinduism or flee to Pakistan, and all Musaajid must be converted into idolatrous temples.

Trapped in this cauldron of fear and misery, Muslims in India do not have the haziest idea of any kind of action to be implemented for their safety. While the atrocities, crime and their perpetrators are condemned, Muslims have forgotten that the horrendous calamities befalling them are by the decree of Allah Azza Wa Jal. There is absolutely no gainsaying in this Islamically irrefutable fact. The Qur’aan and Ahaadith abundantly clarify and emphasize that the consequence of gross disobedience and sin is Divine Punishment, and that such punishment befalls the Ummah and others in a variety of forms, e.g. earthquakes, floods, droughts, etc. Specifically for Muslims the punishment is also in the form of kuffaar oppression and brutality. Mentioning this, the Qur’aan Majeed states:

“Then when the first of the two promises materialized, We sent against you such of Our servants who were powerful in warfare, then they penetrated (your) homes. And, it was a promise decreed.

And, when the second promise came so that your faces become disfigured and so that they enter the Musjid as they had entered the first occasion, and they utterly destroyed whatever they overran.” (Bani Israaeel)

In these Qur’aanic verses Allah Ta’ala mentions the Punishment which He had inflicted on the Bani Israaeel (The Muslim Ummah of that time). “Our servants” refer to the Babylonian kuffaar under their king Bukhta Nasr. They had pillaged, plundered and utterly destroyed Musjidul Aqsa and Jerusalem. 70,000 men, women and children of Bani Israael were marched in chains to Babylon where they were enslaved. This was the Punishment of Allah Ta’ala meted out by the kuffaar whom Allah Ta’ala had harnessed to execute His Command.

Muslims of India as well as Muslims all over the world have flagrantly and blatantly trampled on the Shariah. They have become assimilated in kuffaar culture. They have abandoned Islam. Muslim females have abandoned Hijaab and are freely intermingling with the Hindus. Islam has become chagrin for them. The vices of the West have become integral to Muslim life-style. What other than Allah’s Athaab could be expected in this rotten scenario of evil, vice, fisq, fujoor and kufr?

Now there is no one to aid Muslims. Yet Muslims fail to realize the cause of the calamities descending on them. The solution for the Ummah is only ONE – the Nusrat of Allah Ta’ala. The Qur’aan Majeed says:

“If you aid (the Deen of) Allah, then no one can defeat you, and He will plant your feet firmly against your enemies.

“If Allah aids you, none can defeat you, and if He abandons you, then who is there besides Him who can help you?”

There is no one! However, the Nusrat of Allah Azza Wa Jal is dependent on complete obedience to His Shariah. Inaabat ilal laah – turning to Allah Ta’ala with repentance and the sincere pledge to submit to His Deen –is the one and only way for protection and safety.

If Muslims fail to understand the reality of what is happening to them by way of Allah’s Athaab, then the calamity will become compounded and prolonged. The fate which has befallen other disobedient Muslim communities such as in Burma, Palestine, Kashmir and Syria, will overtake the Muslim community in India as well as elsewhere in the world. Every disobedient and traitorous community will be afflicted with horrendous Athaab. No traitorous community is selected for safety. Everyone will suffer its decreed fate of destruction when the Divine Command is announced.

No amount of protesting, appealing for help from the kuffaar and their agencies will avail. Burma is not far from India, yet the Muslim community has derived absolutely no lesson from the plight of the Burmese Muslims – a similar plight is unfolding even in Sri Lanka where the Buddhist mushrikeen are on rampage. Help is from only Allah Ta’ala, and its price is extremely cheap – Inaabat Ilallaah.

MURDER AND THUGGERY AGAINST MUSLIMS!!!

INDIA

STATE BRUTALITY, TERRORISM. MURDER AND THUGGERY AGAINST MUSLIMS!!!

WHAT MUST BE OUR RESPONSE?

The cry of India’s Muslims

We are inundated with letters of anguish and despair from Muslims of India regarding the current murder, brutality, pillage and plunder against Muslims by the Modi Hindu cow-worshippers and cow-urine drinkers. We reproduce one such letter verbatim without editing it. A Brother in despair writes:

“Respected sheikh, Aasalamualikum… May Allah bless you. Your advice is very comforting to me. (The Brother refers to an earlier letter we sent him – The Majlis)

I have a doubt again. All my Muslim friends are in peaceful democratic protests in India .

They are attacked by insurgents and police .May be they can be killed in that protests. They are calling me to join them. But I think it is un- Islamic to participate in that protests because they say in their Slogans they can be the guards for democracy. The Constitution of India must be protected according to them…. and they will die for the land ,and so on. Is this islamic?

Will the Indian Constitution become Islamic? For these reasons, if I do not participate in democratic protests… Islamically, can I be wrong?
Should Muslims jihad with the police and Hindutwa insurgents instead of following democratic norms? Is the Indian situation now a Fardh Ayn jihad? Please clarify.”

(End of the Brother’s letter)

ISLAM’S RESPONSE

Respected Brother, Your e-mail refers.

It is haraam to fight, to get hurt, to protest and get killed for the haraam kuffaar democratic system. It is a ticket to Jahannam. Remain at home, make Taubah, Istighfaar and much Dua. Pledge to Allah that your will obey the Shariah and seek his protection. Allah Ta’ala says in the Qur’aan Majeed:

“If HE (ALLAH) helps you, then no one can defeat you. And, If He abandons you, then who is there to help you besides HIM?”
May Allah Ta’ala guide and protect all the Muslims of India and all over the world. But Allah’s protection will come only if Muslims abandon their kufr pursuits. Struggling and protesting for democracy are shaitaaniyat. These protests in the streets, kuffaar style, are haraam. Islam has only two options: Jihad or Sabr (Patience and Dua), and this entails Islaah of the Nafs, i.e. moral reformation and spiritual elevation. Minus these vital attributes there is nothing but disgrace and destruction for Muslims.

If the Hindu swine police or the Hindu pig terrorists enter your home, then on you, your wife and children, Jihad is Fardh. Take Allah’s Name and fight the pigs and swines with whatever weapon – knife, stick, stone, etc., etc. – you can lay your hands on. If you are killed in this Fardh Jihad inside your home defending yourself and your family, then you will be with Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam), the Siddiqeen and the other Shuhada in the loftiest mansion of Jannat. May Allah Ta’ala keep you all with aafiyat. Was-Salaam

“THERE IS NO HELP EXCEPT FROM ALLAH THE MIGHTY, THE WISE.”

BRUTALITY OF INDIA’S COW-WORSHIPPERS

3 Jamaadul Awwal 1441 – 30 December 2019
THE BRUTALITY OF INDIA’S COW-WORSHIPPERS HORRENDOUS SAVAGERY  OF THE MODI-COW-WORSHIPPERS AND COW-URINE DRINKERS

The following press report illustrates the brutality and savagery of the Hindu mushrik cow-worshippers of India.UP police accused of stripping clericMaulana’s 100-odd students detained and assaultedBy Imran Ahmed Siddiqui in MuzaffarnagarA bedridden Maulana Asad Raza Hussaini, 66, both arms and both legs bandaged, “sobs in his sleep” and refuses to “show his face” to visiting relatives because, his family says, he cannot get over his humiliation by the police who stripped and tortured him in custody. The police also detained and assaulted almost all the maulana’s 100-odd students from the Saadat hostel-cum-orphanage in Muzaffarnagar town, many of them minors and most of them orphans, local people said.“The boys were denied access to the toilet at times, and some of them suffered rectal bleeding from the torture,” said Salman Saeed, local Congress politician and son of former MP Saiduzzaman Saeed, who lives nearby.Maulana Asad, teacher at the Saadat Madarsa and caretaker of the orphanage, was beaten with a baton and dragged out of the hostel on December 20 afternoon after violence at an anti-citizenship act protest nearby. He has told his family he was kept for over 24 hours in a dark room at the Civil Lines barracks, where he was stripped in the biting cold and beaten. In an adjoining room, the students — aged 14 to 21 — were abused, thrashed with sticks through the night and forced to kneel against the wall, neighbours who spoke to the boys after their release said. Some of the students were forced to chant “Jai Shri Ram”, Saeed said.Maulana Asad, widely respected in western Uttar Pradesh, was released on December 21, Saturday, under pressure from community leaders.“On Saturday night, a cop called us to say the maulana would be released soon and asked us to bring his clothes. We were shocked and could not understand why he needed clothes,” a relative said, asking not to be named because he feared reprisal from the police.“We carried a set of kurta-pyjamas to the Civil Lines barracks and handed it over to the cops. Half an hour later we saw him limping out of the police station, his arms around the shoulders of two cops. He could not lift his head and was in severe pain. We virtually carried him to the car and brought him home.”Maulana Asad has injuries across his body, including all four of his legs and arms, the relative said.“He was subjected to unimaginable cruelty and humiliation. He was not produced before a magistrate even after 24 hours in custody. Family members cried with him throughout Saturday night as he narrated his ordeal,” the relative said, his eyes welling up.“He is mentally scarred. He told us the police made him wish he were dead. He was humiliated so much that he is refusing to show his face to relatives coming to see him. He sobs even in his sleep.”When this correspondent reached Maulana Asad’s home near Meenakshi Chowk in Muzaffarnagar town, his family had initially refused to talk.“

We are terrified. The police have told us not to speak to anyone,” a family member said. She said the entire Muslim community in the area was living in fear. “One does not know when they will raid our homes at night and vandalise them,” she said.“You will write about us and return to Delhi but we have to live here with our children. We are living in a time when we cannot open our mouths and narrate our plight.”Asked whether the family had met senior district officials to complain against the police, she shot back: “When the police and the government have become oppressors, who do we go to?”

The Telegraph tried to get in touch with senior police officials of the district but the calls were not answered. The newspaper spoke to a senior official who declined to comment on the allegations against the police.Congress politician Saeed, who alleges the police vandalised his farmhouse and torched his cars after the December 20 protest, described the plight of the detained madarsa students.“They were abused, deprived of sleep, starved of food and water at times, shackled and barred from using the toilet. The authorities did not allow lawyers to see them,” he said.“Some of them were asked to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’. The police have now released around 90 of the students, including all the minors, after three days of detention. They have arrested 10 students on charges of rioting. They are now in judicial custody.”Saeed said the madarsa was now deserted as almost all the students had fled to homes of relatives and acquaintances in various parts of Uttar Pradesh.Mohammed Sattar, an eyewitness from the locality, said the protesters had begun gathering at Meenakshi Chowk from 2pm on December 20, after namaz, at a spot less than 500 metres from the madarsa.“It was a peaceful protest and the organisers were in constant touch with the police. As the protesters began dispersing around 3.45pm-4pm, stones suddenly began raining,” he said.“Nobody knows who started it. People ran helter-skelter. There was arson when the police started a baton charge. We don’t know who set the police vehicles on fire.”Sattar said the police then went on the rampage and started thrashing people and vandalising shops in the Muslim neighbourhood.“Some of the protesters ran and hid inside the madarsa. A group of policemen then barged in, beat the students mercilessly and rounded up almost all of them,” Sattar said.“

They entered Maulana Asad’s room where he was resting after the prayers. Neither he nor the students had participated in the demonstration.”Sattar said the police dragged the maulana out, beat him and the students, bundled them into a van and whisked them away. After their release on December 23, many of the students were shaking all over, he said. “I have never seen anyone so frightened in my life.”Saeed, the Congress politician, said the situation had been normal on December 27 after the Friday prayers. He said the police were pressuring the family of Noor Mohammad, 26, a hawker, who died of a bullet injury during the December 20 protest at Meenakshi Chowk.

Noor died in police firing, alleged his elder brother Umar. He said the police had refused to accept a complaint from him and Noor’s wife Shanno, 19.“When we went to the police station, the cops said the complaint would not be accepted. They told us that Noor had died of bullets fired by the protesters — which is completely false,” Umar, who said he was at the protest spot with his brother, asserted. The day labourer accused BJP and RSS supporters of inciting and executing the violence. He said: “The police have not given us the post-mortem report. They did not allow his body to be buried here, saying it would lead to a communal flare-up. The body was buried near Meerut. We are illiterate people and fear that the cops might frame me in a criminal case.”    (THE TELEGRAPH)                                             (End of the press report)

This is one of the innumerable episodes of brutality and savagery  randomly perpetrated by the filthy modi-mushrikeen cow-worshippers in India where life has  become a veritable jahannam for Muslims.
While our hearts pain  to learn of the suffering of Muslims in Hindu India, and while we grieve the  humiliating impotency of the Ummah with 60 countries being detached and helpless to aid the brutalized  Muslims who are suffering under  savage Hindu oppression, and  while  we emotionally condemn the filthy mushrikeen,  we should not allow our intellect to become overshadowed  by our justified emotions and grief. These emotions and grief are integral constituents of Imaan.
It is imperative for Muslims to take stock of themselves and to understand that Allah Ta’ala has allowed our enemies to perpetrate their brutality on us. Allah Ta’ala is withholding His Nusrat from us.  He has imposed this savage brutal mushrik Hindu regime  to dominate, punish and humiliate the Muslims of India just as He has done and is doing elsewhere in Burma, Sri Lanka, Palestine and  Syria. The Qur’aan Majeed says:  “You will never find a change  in the Sunnah of Allah.”
The Sunnah of Allah Azza Wa Jal is universal punishment which overwhelms  and even obliterates whole communities and nations. When the Wrath of Allah Azza Wa Jal is unleashed,  nothing will thwart it. The Athaab will run its pre-ordained course. No amount of  supplications will avert or stall or   block the Athaab. The only way of saving us from aam  Athaab, is Inaabat ilal laah. That is, prior to the Axe of Punishment falling, to turn to Allah Ta’ala in repentance; to renew the pledge of obedience; to submit  fully to the Shariah and to adopt the Sunnah. Only then will Allah Ta’ala withhold His Athaab.
Before  inflicting a community with  punishment and destruction, Allah Ta’ala sends reminders in the form of mild and bearable punishment to jolt Muslims into the reality of  the situation of destruction facing them. In the Qur’aan Majeed, Allah Ta’ala says:      “Most assuredly, We shall give them to taste of the lesser punishment, not the greater punishment, for perhaps they will return (i.e. Inaabat ilal laah). Verily, We shall extract vengeance from the criminals.”
Muslims have become the worst criminals on earth. Their  crimes are crimes of rebellion against  Allah Azza Wa Jal.  Thus, the savagery and brutality of the kuffaar are only to be expected.
The  transgression and rebellion against Islam of Muslims have  traversed  the frontier of Divine Tolerance. In the wake of  Muslim rebellion against Allah Azza Wa Jal we are witnessing these terrible Acts of Divine Chastisement  crashing on the Ummah.
The only hope  of succour for Muslims, is to return to Islam. We are helpless and hopeless. No one can come to our aid.  The hour demands Sabr and Inaabat. There is absolutely no other solution. May Allah Ta’ala have mercy on this  humiliated and brutalized Ummah. May Allah Ta’ala grant Muslims the taufeeq to understand what exactly is happening to them and to the world.

INDIA BANNING SALAAT

In the UP Province of India the police have banned performing Salaat in public places. The cowworshipers and drinkers of cowurine banning Salaat in public
places is not at all surprising. The supposedly secular constitution of the Hindu idolaters is a massive farce and deception to hoodwink morons. Morons believe in the ‘guarantees’ proffered by the scrap constitutions of the countries of this era.
It should be accepted that Muslims in India, as well as elsewhere in the world, are not regarded as communities integral with the kuffaar populations. Irrespective of the country being their birthplace and homeland, Muslims are treated as aliens. It does not matter in which country Muslims may be, in this age the Ummah is regarded as scum and flotsam. In fact, we are scum. Confirming this reality, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) informed the Sahaabah that a time will come when “you will be scum (ghutha) like the flotsam of floodwaters.
Our Mashaaikh say: “Kufr is one religion.” Regardless of the kufr being white, black, brown or yellow. All kuffaar are aligned with hatred against Muslims and Islam.
Of concern to Muslims should be their own treachery against Allah Ta’ala. It must be understood and remembered that all calamities have their preludes. The ban on Salaat enacted by the cow-worshippers is the consequence of the ‘ban’ on Salaat imposed by Muslims on themselves. A survey of the number of musallis attending the Musaajid will establish that a small percentage of the Muslim residents of a neighbourhood attend the Musjid for Salaat. Only on Fridays and ‘big’ nights and merrymaking functions are the Musaajid filled.
The primary utility of a Musjid is the performance of the five daily Salaat. But, all over the world, a very small percentage of Muslims fulfill this right of the Musjid. The Musaajid are desolate, and in terms of the Hadith:
“Their Musaajid will be ornate structures, but bereft of hidaayat.”
When the people of the neighborhood debauch the rights of the Musjid, the House of Allah invokes the curse of Allah Azza Wa Jal on them. When Muslims have placed a self-imposed ‘ban’ on performing Salaat in the Place where Salaat should be performed, namely the Musaajid, then it is futile and irrational to clamour about the banning of Namaaz outside the Musaajid by the cow-worshippers.
Muslims should fill the Musaajid daily five times to discharge this greatest obligation
imposed on us by Islam. Salaat is the central Pillar upholding the entire structure of the Deen. When Salaat is rectified and solidified, then Allah Ta’ala will do the rest. The fact that Muslims are today in subjugation of scum who drink cow-urine, who eat cow-manure, who worship cows and a myriad of stupid entities, including monkeys, snakes, and sexual organs, is indicative of Allah’s Wrath on us. All of this is the decree of Allah Azza Wa Jal. “If you aid (the Deen of) Allah, He will aid you.” (Qur’aan)

Glad tidings of Hind

by: Z A Rahman

The advent of Islām and the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) ushered light into a world filled with darkness and hope to a people filled with dejection. He (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) was indeed the bearer of glad tidings. Yet the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) also informed us of events that will befall this Ummah (the Muslim community). Some of these narrations speak of the evil that will occur which would distance us from Allāh – the Most High – and make us weak in front of other nations. We are, today, witnesses to many of these events. In such periods, it is sometimes easy to forget and overlook the good that is also due to transpire of a future where power and honour will be for the Muslims who are well-established in the land.

When we look to the example and life of the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam), we see that he was a hopeful and optimistic person. Much like the onset of his messengership, which came to the darkest place on earth during the darkest age of human history, we find that the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would inspire the believers with hope. During his life, when all seemed at a loss – when the citadel of darkness had been stormed by the forces of evil and treachery – he stood firm like a mountain in the hurricane of fear, unrelenting in his mission. The Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) was always optimistic.

Prophecies in times of hardship
When the Prophet (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) and Abū Bakr (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) were making hijrah (migration) from Makkah to Madīnah, they were pursued by the Quraysh headed by their most skilled tracker, Surāqah b. Malik. A bounty was placed on their heads and Surāqah was hopeful of that bounty. He was, in fact, the only one to come close to catching the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and Abū Bakr (radiy Allāhu ‘anhu). But whenever Surāqah would come upon them, his horse would suddenly sink knee-deep into the sand. When this had happened three times, he understood that the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) was protected and that he would not be able to capture him. He asked the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) to ask Allāh to let him go and, in return, he would tell the Quraysh that they too would not be able to capture them as they were under the protection of Allāh. The Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) asked Allāh, and Allāh accepted his request. Surāqah asked the Prophet (sall Allāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) to give him a written note as a means of security, which the Prophet (sall Allāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) provided. During this, the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was looking to the day when the mighty Persian Empire would crumble. The Persian Empire was one of the most powerful of the ancient empires. At the time that Islām came to the scene, the Persian Empire had already been around for hundreds of years. As a military power, there simply was no comparison. Yet the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) turned to Surāqah and said, “How will you feel when you are wearing the bracelets of Kisra (the King of Persia)?” [1]

Within a decade or two after the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) had passed away, the Muslims conquered Persia. Amongst the booty sent to the Khalīfa of the time, ʿUmar b. al-Khattāb (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu), were the bracelets of Kisra. Recalling the words and prophecy of the Prophet (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam), ʿUmar called for Surāqah, who by now was elderly and had embraced Islām during the conquest of Makkah. ʿUmar (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) handed Surāqah the bracelet and other items of Kisra for him to wear. With this, the vision of the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) was fulfilled.

Some years after the migration of the Prophet (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam), the Battle of Khandaq (the trenches) took place. It was also known as Ahzāb (the confederates) because, along with the Qurayshi polytheists, local Jewish and Arab tribes and groups came together in order to attack the Muslims in Madīnah.

The Muslims dug trenches to keep out the enemy. In the midst of all this, some were terrorised by fear at the fact that the whole of Arabia had gathered against them. The Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) remained optimistic and reiterated the promise of Allāh. The Prophet (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) struck a rock three times, and each time he struck a bright light would spark. In another narration, it is said that this spark was like a light in the middle of a dark night; this is evidence that the three sparks came up with each strike. The Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) said:

“Allāhu Akbar! I was given the keys of Damascus. I swear by Allāh that I see the red palaces of Damascus now!” On the second strike, he said “Allāhu Akbar! I was given the keys of Persia. I swear by Allāh that I see the city of Madayin of the Chosroes and his white palace!” Then, on the third strike he said: “Allāhu Akbar! I was given the keys of Yemen. I swear by Allāh that I see the gates of San’ā now!” [2]

The hypocrites amongst the Muslims would highlight and dwell on the reality that they were under siege, and yet the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) talked of leading the world. These glad tidings served to boost the īmān (faith) of the believers, and made clear to them that whatever happened during the upcoming battle, the Ummah was destined for greater things. Of course, we know that within about two decades, the vision of the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) was fulfilled, and all the places mentioned above steeped then in darkness had come under the light of Islām.

At other times, the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) made decisions that were not for his time, but for a future generation. This can be exemplified by looking at the Miqāt (the point/boundary at which the Iḥrām can commence). [3] The Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) made Dhul-Hulaifa the Miqāt for the people of Madīnah; Al-Juhfa for the people of Shām; Qarn al-Manazil for the people of Najd; and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen.[4] At the time that these Mawāqīt were set by the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam), there was no Muslim community in the direction of Persia, Syria, or Yemen. Yet the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) showed that he was a visionary and believed that a time would come when Islām and Muslims would reach every corner of the earth.

Recent events and the Prophecy of Hind (India)
The recent events in Kashmir brings to light the weakness of the Ummah’s position. In this situation, it is very easy to become despondent. However, we learn from the above examples that the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) would use such times to inspire hope, and it is therefore an opportune time for us to recall the prophecies regarding Hind/India prior to the Day of Judgment.

Thawbān (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu), reported that the Messenger of Allah (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam), said:

“Two groups of my Ummah Allāh has protected from the hellfire: a group that will conquer India and a group that will be with ‘Isa b. Maryam, may peace be upon him.” [5]

Na’im b. Hammad reports in al-Fitan that Abu Hurayrah (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) said that the Messenger of Allah (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) mentioned India and said:

“A group of you will conquer India, Allāh will open for them [India] until they come with its kings chained – Allāh having forgiven their sins – when they return back [from India], they will find ibn Maryam in Syria.”

Abu Hurayrah (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) also narrates:

“The Messenger of Allah (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam), promised us [the Muslims] the conquest of India. If I was to come across that I will spend my soul and wealth. If I am killed then I am among the best of martyrs. And if I return then I am Abu Hurayrah the freed.” [6]

In another narration reported by Ahmad, Abu Hurayrah says, “I was told by my khalīl (beloved), the truthful and believed in, the Messenger of Allah, sall Allāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam, that there will be in this Ummah an expedition sent to Sind and Hind (India).” The rest of the narration is the same but it has the following addition: “… then I will be released from the Hellfire.” It is said that this addition explains what is meant by “the freed” in the previous narration.

Points to note:
Looking through the history of Islām, we learn that neither a godly leader nor a brave liberator emerged except that there were pious individuals and scholars around to teach and guide them to face their struggles.

The obvious example is the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) and the sahābah who he had cultivated and nurtured. Leadership has many facets, all of which were possessed by the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam). Amongst these was the ability to motivate, inspire, and give hope – a particular ingredient missing in many today.

We find this aspect of leadership woven through all great characters in the history of Islām. Take as an example Salāhuddīn. He was nurtured by the scholar and ruler Nūruddīn Zenghi, who laid the foundations for the liberation of Al-Aqsa and inspired Salāhuddīn. Just as the Messenger of Allāh (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) set the Miqāt for a future purpose, Nūruddīn built an exquisite and elaborate minbar in Aleppo around 1154. This minbar, built over thirty years before the liberation of al-Quds at the hands of Salāhuddīn in 1187, was to be placed in Masjid al-Aqsa. Once the liberation was completed, the minbar was placed inside the masjid.

Later in life and after the death of Nūruddīn, Salāhuddīn was motivated by the scholar Behr-addīn b. Sheddād to complete the liberation and was accompanied by him in the battles along the way.

Another example is Muḥammad Al-Fātiḥ. This was a man who, from the age of 12, made the word of Allāh (subḥānahu wa taʿālā) ingrained and inculcated in his heart. In particular, the ḥadīth of liberating Constantinople was instilled in his very being by Sheikh Shamsuddīn such that it changed his life forever. He conquered Constantinople and, with it, effectively commenced the glorious reign of the Ottoman Caliphate. Sheikh Shamsuddīn, like those before him, accompanied Muḥammad al-Fātih in the battles along the way.

During the time of the crusades, Ibn Asākir authored his magnum opus, Tārīkh madīnat Dimashq (History of the City of Damascus). This was the largest biographical dictionary ever produced in the medieval period. With 74 volumes, and an additional 6 volumes of indices, it is one of the treasures of Islamic historiography. It celebrated the holiness of Syria by documenting the lives and achievements of notable men and women who lived in this region. The principle purpose of Ibn Asākir compiling this work and emphasising the sacredness of the land was to inspire Muslims to protect it from the Crusaders.

There is much debate among the scholars of Islam as to whether the prophecy concerning India has already come to pass with the liberation of India by Mahmud Ibn Subutagin of Ghazni or whether it relates to a period towards the end of times. As there is some uncertainty, we need scholars today to similarly educate the masses on the virtues of this prophecy and the fact that it potentially remains yet to be fulfilled. We need to inspire the Ummah to greatness once again and, perhaps then, Allāh will send amongst us great men such as those mentioned above.

If indeed the hadith that are considered to be weak are true, then what we also learn is that we cannot run from destiny. Whilst the Muslims of previous times spent nearly 800 years attempting to liberate Constantinople simply to fulfil the prophecy set by the Messenger of Allah (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam), Muslims today have forgotten the prophecies yet to be fulfilled. We find that even if we do not have the same zeal as previous Muslims to bring a prophecy to effect, the environment is being set for us such that it will be forced upon us whether we like it or not.
