As-Salamu ‘Alaikum

A famous quatrain by Imam Al-Busiri, the author of the famous Burdah, and a celebrated real Sufi:

ما لِلنَّصَارَى إليَّ ذَنْبٌ

وإنَّما الذنبُ لِلْيَهودِ

وكيفَ تَفْضِيلُهُمْ وفيهمْ

سِرُّ الْخَنازِيرِ وَالقُرُودِ

Translation of meaning: The christians do not have unto me a sin;

But indeed the sin is with the yahuud!

And how can they be revered, while

Among them is the secret of the pigs and monkeys?!

Footnote: Meaning to say that our friendships and enmities are not about something committed for/against our own selves, but rather our disavowal and antipathy is for the sake of Allah and His Beloved ﷺ and due to the ahl al-kitab’s plotting and planning against our deen. That some of the Bani Israiil were morphed into pigs and apes as a punishment from Allah, was a closely guarded secret amongst them. “The story of Uwais Al-Qarni was mentioned in Sahih Muslim as well as in other books. Now even though he was from the Tabi’een and did not see the Messenger [Salah Allahu Alaihi wa salam], the Messenger [Salah Allahu Alaihi wa salam] had advised ‘Umar ibn Al-Khatab [Radiya Allahu ‘Anhu] that if he meets [Uwais] then he, ‘Umar, should ask [Uwais] to ask Allah to forgive him and to make supplication for him.

Cast in a dilemma by the factions of the Tabligh Jamaat, a Concerned Tablighi Brother writes: 

“Asalamualaikum.

From what I know, The Majilis advises people not to get involved in the current leadership conflict of the Tablighi Jamaat by neither supporting the Nizamuddin (Ml. Saad) group nor the Raiwind (Aalmi Shura) group. Rather, you advise us to work within the six points. 

However, what should we do when there is no option but to indirectly pick a side? What I mean by this is that there are two shab-e-guzaris going on in some countries (one by the Nizamuddin group and one by the Raiwind group). There is no third shab-e-guzari. Which shab-e-guzari should be partake in? 

Also when you want to go in Jamaat (e.g. 40 days), you have to either go through the Markaz of the Nizamuddin group or the Markaz of the Raiwind group in our local country…

[Majlisul Ulama]

The principle pertaining to aquatic animals according to the Hanafi Math-hab is that of the sea animals ONLY fish is halaal. Besides fish ALL sea animals are haraam. There is complete consensus (Ijma’) of all Hanafi authorities on this issue.

SHRIMPS

Among the Hanafi Ulama there is some difference of opinion regarding the permissibility of consuming shrimps. Some Hanafi Ulama who have opined that shrimps are fish, say that these creatures are halaal. Those who claim that a shrimp is not a fish, aver that it is haraam.

Those who believe that shrimps are not fish have no alternative but to say that these creatures are haraam while the opposite will be true for those who believe that these sea creatures are fish.

This article is a response to the arguments presented by a Maulana who claims that shrimps are fish, hence

The issue of the condition of a Qurayshi for leadership can be divided into three views:

1- It is a condition for Khalifah just like it is a condition to be a Muslim male.

2- A Khalifah should be Qurayshi so long as no Mutaghalib non-Qurayshi claims power by force.

3- Being Qurayshi by lineage is not a condition; rather, it was due to other reasons like the Quraysh’s prowess in Siyasah and the geopolitical environment of Arabia or the lack of certainty on the matter. This is the view of Juwayni al-Shafi’i, Ibn Khaldun, Munawi, few Hanafis, and I also found it argued rigorously by Mufti Abdul Sattar Dehlawi among AhleHadith of IndoPak in his Fatawa Sattariyyah and Mawlana Hussain Ahmad Madani and Mufti Sa’id Ahmad Palanpuri among Deobandies.
