Reply to Modernists – Dressing Like the Prophet ﷺ: Recommended or Not?

By Mufti Zameelur Rahman

Imām Abū Shāmah (599 – 665 H), the distinguished teacher of al-Nawawī, wrote:

‘[‘Abdullāh] Ibn ‘Abdān (d. 433 H) said:

“The acts of the Prophet (Allāh bless him and grant him peace) which did not occur from him in the form of worship, it is desirable (mustaḥabb) to copy him in these in hopes of his blessing, like his eating, drinking, dress, taking, giving and companionship of women. All of his acts related to matters of the world, it is desirable to copy him in all of them.”

‘I say: This is why the transmitters have given care to transmitting the details of his states in all of these, and the people of piety and knowledge from the Salaf followed the course of his example in them, and in avoiding forced behaviour in their needs that occurred to them. Thus, if it were to be said to one of them, “Don’t ride a donkey”, “don’t milk the goat, “don’t skin it”, “don’t lift the garment”, “don’t make the sandal layered” or “don’t plaster the camel”, he would reply:

“How can I not do these, when I saw the Messenger of Allāh (Allāh bless him and grant him peace) doing them?!” or “when it has been transmitted from him that he did them?!”’[1]

Imām al-Ghāzālī said:

“Know that the key to happiness is following the Sunnah and taking Allāh’s Messenger as an example in all of his comings, goings, movements, and stillness – even the way he ate, stood, slept, and spoke. I do not say this in reference to matters of worship only; for indeed, there is no room for neglecting the narrated sunan for them. Rather, I am referring to all habitual matters – by this, the absolute following is achieved. Allāh said: ‘If you love Allāh, the follow-me – Allāh will love you,” And: ‘Whatever the Messenger gives you take it; and whatever he forbids you from, desist.’…Indeed Muḥammad ibn Aslam (d. 242 H) would not eat watermelon because the way Allāh’s Messenger ate it was never transmitted…A person should therefore not slack regarding such things and say, ‘This is something related to habits, so following it is not important in respect of it,’ for truly, that closes on you one of the great doors of happiness.” [2]

The Ḥanafī imām, Abu l-Ḥasan al-Sughdī (d. 461), has a section on “desirable (mustaḥabb)” clothing which he describes as that which is “in accordance with the sunnahs, and in accordance with what has been transmitted in ḥadīth.” [3]

He gives some examples, amongst them to have the qamīṣ reaching the middle of the shin and there being an opening at the chest, explaining that “reports have been transmitted on all of that.” (ibid.) Hence, the dress of the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam) is not only regarded as a coincidental sunnah, but also as something praiseworthy and encouraged for others to follow.

The Prophet (ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam) would wear a qamīṣ, izār, hat, turban, ridā’ (shawl), sandals, jubba, cloak etc. Hence, one who wears these items of clothing in imitation of the Prophet would be rewarded for doing so.

In discussing which clothing should be worn in ṣalāh, Imām Abū Ḥanīfah said: “The ways of the People (i.e. the Salaf) is in [wearing] qamīṣ and ridā’, and that is best.”[4]

The Ḥanafī jurist, al-Nasafī (d. 710 H), said: “The circumstantial [sunnahs of the Prophet], to adopt them is good, and there is no harm in leaving them, like the manner of the Prophet (upon him peace) in dress, standing and sitting.” [5]

There are several examples from the lives of the ṣahābah which show they imitated the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam) in his habitual practices. For example, in relation to dress, it is reported: the ṣahābah wore a ring when the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam) started wearing one (Saḥīḥ al-Bukhārī); Ibn ‘Umar (raḍiyallāhu ‘anhumā) wore a particular type of sandal because the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam) wore them (Saḥīḥ al-BukhārīShamā’il al-Tirmidhī); and Mu‘āwiyah ibn Qurrah and his father (raḍiyallāhu ‘anhumā) would leave their qamīṣ unbuttoned in heat and cold because they saw the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam) dressing this way. AVENUES OF ZINA BY MOLVIS

MUSAAJID MADE AVENUES OF ZINA BY MOLVIS

“DO NOT COME NEAR TO ZINA.” (Qur’aan)

The Qur’aan forbids all stepping stones and introductory acts and factors leading to zina. All things leading to zina are just as haraam as zina. Among the measures introduced by molvis for indulgence in zina is opening the Musaajid for females. Based on their shaitaani, convoluted logic the Ulama, even the sincere ones, invite women to the Musaajid for Salaat and for listening to their talks. This is indeed a cunning ploy of shaitaan who has entrapped the molvis in his snare. The talk of separation or separate facilities for women is another shaitaani deception with which the molvis have become hoodwinked. Read carefully the following letter of a brother who was trapped into zina via the Musjid platform. The Brother writes:

My Adulterous Relationship from Musjid-us-Salaam, Musgrave

As salaam u alaikum

I am a musalee of Musjidus Salaam, Musgrave — the new Musjid that was built last year in Musgrave. This year on the 1st of Ramadaan I parked my car in the basement. There was a lady in a car (Note: We have deleted the type/name of the vehicle to avoid detection and recognition of the prostitute woman by her husband –The Majlis) who entered at the same time as I did. While walking to the lift, she said, “Sorry brother, which way to the ladies lift.” I pointed to it and she thanked me and smiled . I walked away thinking nothing of it. On the next evening we happened to enter at the same time again, and she smiled at me and I smiled back.

Thereafter I didn’t see her for 2 days. The next time I saw her she jokingly said, “You’ve been missing for 2 days.” I laughed and said, yes, and asked her: Did you miss me. She laughed and said nothing. When I got back to my car, there was a note on the windscreen, with a message, and a phone number. When I messaged the number it turned out to be her. We started communicating, and by the middle of Ramadaan, our messages had become x rated. We had a biting passion to be with each other. We both are married and have our own spouses. On Wednesday after Eid, we met at a hotel and spent the afternoon together. We went to the point of no return. (i.e. committed the ultimate sin of adultery—The Majlis)

I am feeling very guilty, and need to get out of this relationship, because I know it’s wrong, but I’m addicted. I’m not blaming the Musjid, because it is the House of Allah. However, the biggest sin the trustees could have committed was allowing ladies and men in the same musjid, and entering through a common parking lot.

Please make others aware so that this doesn’t happen again to me and others. Jazakallah (End of letter)

On the occasion of the expulsion of Iblees from the Heavens, he supplicateto Allah Ta’ala. He made dua to be granted several things. One of his supplications was for “TRAPS”. Accepting the dua of Iblees, Allah Ta’ala said: “Your Traps will be women.” In the terminology of the Hadith these Traps are called Habaailush Shaitaan.

Entrapping the brother as well as innumerable others in similar scenarios, Iblees fired the first arrow of zina in the Musjid basement which became the avenue of zina – an avenue created by the Ibleesi molvis and juhala trustees. The very first step towards zina was the fortuitous encounter in the basement by man and woman. This encounter belies the stupid, shaitaani claim of ‘separation’ or ‘separate facilities’. There is total free intermingling in most Musjids at the entrances and exists. The separation inside the Musjid proper is a mock separation. And, assuming a total separation can practically be established, then too it remains HARAAM for women to attend the Musjid.

The first encounter ignited the spark of zina in the man and woman. Shaitaan succeeded in planting the seed of zina in the man and woman. The woman’s expression of ‘thanks’ and ‘gratitude’ was a further act designed by Iblees to ensure that these unfortunate souls would indulge in zina. Shaitaan ensured the germination of the seed of zina which Iblees had already planted in their hearts. This expression of thanks in alluring tones was part of the net of zina being spread by Iblees. Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Women are snares of shaitaan.”

The lustful smile cast by the woman provided exceptionally good fertilizer for the germination of the seed of zina in the heart of the brother. Although the brother says that he was thinking ‘nothing’ of this incident, if he reflects he will not fail to discern the lust which had been kindled. He labored in self-deception. He was already entangled in the Trap of Shaitaan.

The next night, shaitaan went a step further to solidify his trap. He planned the supposedly coincidental encounter again. Now the two went a step further in the route to zina. They exchanged smiles of zina despite the fact that they were proceeding into the House of Allah for Salaat. The sanctity of the Musjid and the Salaat did not deter them from entrapment in the meshes of Iblees and the nafs. The man had lost his thinking capability. Imaam Ghazaali (Rahmatullah alayh) said that when a man is entrapped by a woman, 80% of his brain cells become inoperative.

In the next encounter two days later, the woman discarded whatever vestige of hayaa she may have had by virtue of Imaan which she appears to have extinguished, and invited the brother by implication to zina. All the trappings necessary for actual zina had been cultivated. Thus, they committed the ultimate act of adultery in the hotel room hired specifically for the commission of adultery.

Both are married. Not the Musjid, not Salaat, not the Holy Month of Ramadhaan, not the auspicious Nights of Ramadhaan, nor the thought of their spouses and their children deterred them from the treachery and villainy of zina. They had become like atheists, entirely oblivious of the Presence of Allah Ta’ala and of the Two Recording Angels alongside them.

Molvis and jaahil trustees are primarily responsible for such zina episodes initiated in the Musaajid environs. Whatever the brother has described is not an isolated happening. Such zina encounters are on the increase in the wake of intermingling of sexes in the Musjid environs. The rubbish so-called ‘ulama’ and the rubbish jaahil trustees are largely responsible for this haraam zina state of affairs. They are the causes for zina in the Musjid and for breaking up of homes. They are guilty of the vile acts of treachery and infidelity committed by the adulterers towards their spouses sitting at home.

The veil of ignorance on the brains of some sincere Ulama is most distressing. Some Ulama despite being ‘senior’ and ostensibly ‘pious’ and operating Deeni institutions, lure women into the public domain to attend their lectures held in the Musaajid. These molvis should understand that they are guilty of debauchery. They pillage and plunder the Imaan and Hayaa of women. They should hang their heads in shame. The earth needs to be purified of these highway dacoits who rob Muslims of their Imaan and Hayaa. Shaitaan has urinated on the Aql (Brains) of these molvis – they are NOT Ulama – and he has paralyzed their intelligence. They therefore, miserably and disgustingly fail to understand the extremely simple fact of the Prohibition of female emergence from the home. How is it ever Islamically possible for Ulama to encourage women to come out of their homes to listen to their bayaans in the Musaajid when the Sahaabah had unanimously banned women from attending the Musjid for Fardh Salaat – a practice which Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) had permitted?

These molvis are not interested in the moral reformation and spiritual elevation of women. Their satanic desire is ‘female company’. They want to display themselves to the females is peacock-style – in the manner in which the peacock spreads its wings and dances. Shaitaan has really jarred the mental equilibrium of these molvis whom Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) described as “THE WORST OF PEOPLE UNDER THE CANOPY OF THE SKY”.

I have drastically cut down on my food-intake.

Q. I have drastically cut down on my food-intake. I have read in the Hadith and in Imaam Ghazali’s book on the spiritual and physical harms of eating
much. However, I have lost much weight and I’m feeling very weak. What is your advice?

A. Brother, do not implement rigid and extremely austere methods from books. Always seek advice. The extreme methods of austerity practised by
Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam), the Sahaabah and the early Muslims are not possible for weaklings of our kind in this age.
For us the advice in the Hadith is to eat less than a filled stomach. Never over-eat. If you follow the methods of the Auliya of former times your health will severely suffer, then you will find difficulty fulfilling even your daily Salaat. Eat well of the bounties of Allah Ta’ala. Abstain from haraam and doubtful foods such as commercially killed carrion chickens, the haraam meat the butcheries sell, and commercially prepared foods containing stabilizers, emulsifiers, gelatine, and E Number ingredients. Eat halaal Tayyib food but do not over-eat.

RADIOS- THE TENTACLES AND TRAPS OF IBLEES

Q. I have noticed that a Mufti when answering questions on a radio sometimes goes overboard in the way he talks to the ladies with some of his jokes and comments. I believe that this sort of behavior doesn’t suit a Mufti Saheb. In fact he actually shouldn’t speak to non-Mahrams. Am I correct?
A. Yes, you are 100% correct. He should not speak to ghair mahram females. These radios without exception, are all traps of Iblees. Regardless who the Mufti or the Buzrug may be, once he is on the radio, he is trapped in the tentacles of shaitaan. These radio stations are voices of Iblees. They propagate shaitaaniyat and baatil under Deeni guise. The mufti and molvi’s Imaan is desensitized by the deluge of the zina voices with which they interact. Even their Aql becomes convoluted and filthied by the haraam female voices and other haraam paraphernalia associated with all these shaitaani radio institutions. When a mufti fails to understand the fitnah in the droves of females exhibiting their voices, and asking even questions which are in total conflict with Islam’s concept of hayaa, then it speaks volumes for the degenerate state of his Imaan, and for his drift from Allah’s proximity and his gravitation towards Iblees.
These women who come on air with their lewd questions posed shamelessly to males who have lost their Imaani bearings, are like zaaniyahs. They have no Imaani shame. Hayaa is an intrinsic attribute of Imaan – of the Imaan of both males and females although the degree of hayaa is substantially more in females. But their surfacing on the channels of shaitaan is the evidence for the elimination of their Imaani hayaa. Searching for aggrandizement, satisfying bloated egos, and pursuing other nafsaani and worldly objectives under Deeni cover are signs of Qiyaamah. It is haraam for a woman to ask questions over these Devil radios, and it is haraam for males to listen to their voices, and it is haraam for molvis to entertain their questions.
A LEWD HARAAM COMMENT
Q. A woman speaking on the radio to the mufti said that she was given a lift home from her work by a male co-worker. In the car he made sexual advances which she managed to somehow or the other ward off. In response, the mufti commented:  “At least rape didn’t happen.” Many people were aghast at this lewd, lackadaisical,
frivolous comment of the mufti.

Please comment.
A. The comment was most unbefitting and lewd. In fact, it was a haraam comment. The degree of Imaani desensitization which eliminates Imaani inhibition to fisq and fujoor, with which the mufti suffers, made him oblivious of the notoriety of his comment. Both the woman and the mufti are lewd. Undoubtedly the woman is a zaaniyah and the mufti fell in her trap.
After all, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said that women are Habaailush Shaitaan (the Traps of Shaitaan). When males engage women amorously and express themselves frivolously then understand the veracity of Imaam Ghazaali’s observation. He said that when a man is enamoured and enticed by a woman then 80% of his brain cells become inoperative. Thus, the greater part of his brains is dead. He is spiritually blind and fails to understand what he blurts out to make a mockery of himself.

THE THREE CLASSES OF FASTING

THE THREE CLASSES OF FASTING
In his Kitaab, Tableeghud Deen, Imaam Ghazali (rahmatullah alayh) says:
“Fasting,.with regard to quality, are of three kinds:
(1) The Saum of the Awam (general public-the masses). Their fast consists of only abstention from the physical acts which nullify the fast. While they abstain from eating, etc., they involve their bodies in sin. Such saum is merely fasting in name. (Only the Fardh obligation is discharged thereby).
(2) In addition to abstaining from food, etc., the Sa-im (fasting person) restrains the body from acting in violation of the Shariah. He withholds his tongue from gheebat and eyes from casting gazes at ghair mahareem. This is the middle category of fasting.
(3) The third category of fasting is the Saum of the elite servants of Allah Ta’ala, viz. the Muttaqeen. In addition to their limbs abstaining from transgression, their hearts and minds arc perpetually engrossed in thikrullah. At all times, in their hearts there is nothing but the remembrance of Allah Ta’ala. This is fasting in the state of kamal (perfection)”.

ULAMA-E-SOO

THE ULAMA-E-SOO’

By Imaam Abu Haamid Ghazaali
Presenting a character sketch of the evil scholars for dollars and the lovers of name and fame (the ulama-e-soo’), Imaam Ghazaali (Rahmatullah alayh) states in his Kitaab, Faslut Tafraqah Bainas Islam waz Zandaqah:
“Know that the reality of kufr and Imaan, and their definition, Haqq (the Truth of Islam) and Dhalaal (Deviation) and their natures do not become conspicuous for hearts filthied by hankering after fame and wealth and their love. But, these realities are revealed to the hearts firstly purified of the pollution of the filth of the world, then polished with perfect spirituality, then brightened with pure Thikr, then nourished with valid contemplation, then beautified with the limits of the Shariah so that they (the purified hearts) are permeated with the Noor (celestial and spiritual radiance) emanating from the Niche of Nubuwwat. Thus, they (these purified hearts) become like glittering mirrors. They become the lanterns of Imaan radiating anwaar.
How is it possible for the spiritual mysteries to unravel for people (ulama-e-soo’) whose vain desires have deflected them (from the Haqq); whose god is their rulers (sultans, kings and the like); whose qiblah is gold and silver; whose shariah is their evil flippancy; whose thikr is their evil devilish ideas (shaitaani wasaawis); whose treasure is their (nafsaani) vermin, and whose contemplation is the fabrication of schemes which their villainy demands.
How is it possible for these (vermin) to differentiate between the darkness of kufr and the glitter of Imaan? Their hearts have not been purified from the contaminations of the world. Their capital in knowledge is the rules of najaasat and the like.” (End of Imaam Ghazaali’s characterization of the ulama-e-soo’)
In fact these juhala-e-soo’ of our era are ignorant of even the masaa-il of Istinja. While the Ummah is ablaze and burning with fisq, fujoor, bid’ah and kufr, and groveling in squalor, extreme poverty and ignorance, these vile vermin molvis and sheikhs, indulge in merrymaking functions of futility, singing, devouring carrion, gluttony and excreting the effluvium of their gluttony.
Amid the heart-rending suffering of the decadent Ummah, these evil molvies and sheikhs squander millions of dollars of the Ummah’s trust funds in baatil accords, conferences and symposiums bootlicking the rulers and mutilating the Deen to appease the oppressive regimes and kings who bestow stupid accolades and financial perks to the vermin truckling at their feet. They satanically squander the trust funds jetting around the globe, enjoying themselves in 5 star hotels and in other nafsaani indulgences whilst their hearts incrementally become harder by the day. They are bereft of any pity and feelings of brotherhood for the suffering masses of the Ummah. That is why they are so obese. Their bodies are nourished with haraam, hence in terms of the Hadith, Jahannam has a greater claim over them.
They strike up dalliances with kuffaar and mushrikeen in the kufr interfaith shaitaani movement. They convert Musaajid into temples. They utilize Musaajid for entertaining the public with songs. They pollute and violate the sanctity of the Musaajid with droves of kuffaar tourists wallowing in physical and spiritual najaasat. They stare amorously with their carnal lusts at the ill-clad kuffaar women in the Musaajid. They join evil sporting clubs, and they organize sporting teams in the names of Musaajid. They teach Bukhaari Shareef and Qur’aan Tafseer in their Darul Ulooms, yet they have kuffaar sportsfield at their institutions. Their Bukhaari students run around the field like baboons in bermudas and T-shirts. Can such vermin ever become Warathatul Ambiya? They halaalize carrion, riba and alcohol. In brief, they are rotten inwards and outwards – rotten to the core, and they peddle all their rot in the name of the Deen. This is the Rot to which Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) referred:
“Soon shall there dawn an age when nothing of Islam will remain except its name. Nothing of the Qur’aan will remain but its text. Their Musaajid will be ornate structures devoid of hidaayat. Their Ulama will be the worst under the canopy of the sky. From them will percolate fitnah, and the fitnah will rebound on them (and hem them in).”
A true Shaikh commented that under the canopy of the sky there are also the Yahood, Nasaara, mushrikeen, apes and swines. From this observation, the category of the juhala-e-soo’ (the evil sheikhs and molvies) will be understood.
No group of mankind has damaged the Deen and ruined the Ummah as much as the ulama-e-soo’- the likes of the sheikhs and molvies of the MJC, NNB jamiat, the Trinity of Iblees, Dajjaals such as Tariq Jameel and the rest of the vile scholars for dollars who operate Madaaris and other Deeni institutions solely for the acquisition of worldly and nafsaani objectives.
They overtly present ‘deeni’ goals whilst covertly they utilize the acts of the Deen for the acquisition of worldly objections. All of them are Signs of Qiyaamah and the fulfilment of the predictions of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam).
