These exact things are what we’re seeing today, phenomena that wreak havoc on society. Widespread nudity and unregulated casual sex.

Modern secular western society is built around these things, and is rapidly influencing non-western and Muslim societies to be the same:

Smartphone duck-face selfies

Sexy filters

Social media platforms (Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, etc)

Fashion industry hottest trends

Makeup trends

Hollywood movies and TV shows selling nudity and sex

Porn, freely accessible online

Without guidance, people follow like sheep, sinking deeper into the abyss of immortality that is nudity and casual sex.

Islam teaches the exact opposite. We are taught measures to counteract these evils:

The system of hijab, الحجاب

Hayaa, الحياء

Lowering the gaze, غض البصر

No ikhtilat (mixing), عدم الاختلاط

No khalwa (blameworthy seclusion), عدم الخلوة

Etiquette of gender interaction in speech (not softening the voice, no chit chat), ولا تخضعن بالقول

These specific, divinely-ordained rules govern the interaction between the two genders, safeguard us as individuals, protect the family unit, and save society from falling into chaos.

We walk away from them at our own peril, prompting our own destruction.
