Q. My mother is a prostitute. I have spoken much to her. She ignores all advice. She expects me to financially support her. Is it still my responsibility to take care of her? Due to her haraam profession am I still obliged to treat her as a mother? How should my relationship be with her?

A. She is your mother and so shall it be for all time. Your advice to her should continue. Speak with respect and politely. It remains your obligation to care for her. Your Jannat still lies under her feet. You are obliged by the Shariah to treat her as a mother should be treated. Make much dua for her. Allah Ta’ala may grant her the taufeeq to abandon her evil profession.
